Shimano
Designed to deliver sensitivity, responsiveness and control, the Shimano Catana GX Spinning EVA brings Shimano engineering and reliability to an accessible spinning rod range developed for modern lure-fishing techniques. A selection of lengths, powers and actions allows anglers to choose the configuration best suited to their style, from aggressive presentations to techniques requiring a more progressive response.
At the core of the rod is a lightweight and responsive Full Carbon blank, engineered to provide efficient feedback between angler and lure. Diaflash technology reinforces the lower section of the blank, reducing torsional movement under load and improving stability during casting and fish fights. This translates into more efficient casting, accurate lure control and greater stability when a powerful fish puts the tackle under pressure.
The component package has been selected to complement the performance of the blank. Fuji Stainless Steel K-Type guides provide smooth line management and are suitable for use with both braided and monofilament lines. The Shimano VSS-style reel seat, combined with the modern split EVA grip, provides an ergonomic hold and helps maintain direct contact with the blank for improved lure feedback.
Fast-action models are designed for anglers who value quick response, positive hook sets and precise lure control. Moderate-Fast models provide a more progressive blank response, increasing versatility and helping absorb sudden runs during the fight. For anglers who prefer a more traditional setup, a Moderate-Fast model with a classic cork handle is also available.
The Catana GX Spinning EVA is a practical choice for anglers looking for a modern, lightweight and technically capable spinning rod. With a combination of Full Carbon construction, Diaflash technology, Fuji components and purpose-developed actions, it provides the control and reliability needed for a wide range of lure-fishing applications, while remaining highly accessible.
