DAIWA 26 POWERMESH BOLO
Daiwa 26 PowerMesh Bolo is based on a specific design concept: using one section less than a traditional bolognese rod of the same length, while completely rethinking the geometry of the blank.
This is therefore not simply a matter of reducing the number of sections. Each section has been developed in relation to the others, with carefully considered section lengths designed to maintain balanced behaviour throughout the rod. The result is a blank offering reduced weight, greater continuity through the bend and a more consistent response during fishing.
The idea of working on the combination of section number and section length has been part of Daiwa's research into telescopic rods for many years. Its experience in developing high-performance rods for the Japanese market has shown how section distribution can influence the way a blank loads, recovers and transfers power.
With the PowerMesh, this concept is applied to bolognese fishing for the first time, with a design focused on maintaining consistent behaviour from the lower part of the rod through to the tip.
A more continuous bend
Reducing the number of joints means fewer interruptions along the blank, but the real advantage comes from how the individual sections are designed. Their lengths have been carefully developed so that the rod works more like a single system, avoiding abrupt changes in the bending curve under load.
The PowerMesh is therefore designed to provide a natural progression, combining quick response with control. During fishing, this translates into a more harmonious behaviour as the rod loads, with a continuous feel extending from the handle area to the tip.
This approach is particularly interesting for anglers who pay attention not only to the overall weight of a bolognese rod, but also to the way the blank responds throughout the fishing action.
Daiwa blank technologies
The PowerMesh architecture is combined with several of Daiwa's key blank construction technologies.
SVF carbon construction is designed to produce a lightweight and responsive blank, while X45 technology contributes to structural stability and blank control during the bend.
V-Joint is designed to provide a more progressive transition between sections around the joints. Anti-Stick Joint technology helps reduce the risk of telescopic sections becoming stuck together during use.
The construction is completed by the Spine Alignment System and a reel-seat area featuring an anti-slip finish.
Supplied blank for customization
Another distinctive feature of the Daiwa 26 PowerMesh Bolo is that the rod is supplied bare, without a predefined configuration of terminal components.
This gives anglers and professionals greater freedom to customize the rod according to their own requirements and preferred setup.
