The Okuma Makaira is an extremely powerful multiplier reel, ideal for trolling and bluefin tuna drifting. It has silver anodizing, a double speed carbonite recovery system and maximizes recovery power while maintaining optimal efficiency and smoothness. The oversized handle and low-speed gears compared to the original Makaira offer extreme torque for the Makaira Sea. RIGID ALUMINUM FRAME: Okuma's machined rigid frame construction incorporates a fully machined frame from a single piece of aluminum hollowed out with special machinery. These rigid aluminum frames are the ultimate in precision alignment and tolerances, withstanding more pressure and torque than any other material used in our industry. 2-SPEED GEAR: Okuma 2-speed technology from Okuma incorporates two sets of main gears and stainless steel pinion gear, allowing anglers the option of either a high-speed gear ratio or a low-speed gear ratio for maximum power and torque. Shifting gears is as easy as pushing a button or pushing a lever and thanks to the unique design of the Okuma gearshift you can achieve a LIGHTNING transmission shift ... DOUBLE FORCE LEVER DRAG: For extremely smooth and powerful drag, Okuma's Makaira lever drag is designed with a patented Dual Force Drag system. This drag system is specially designed to be mounted on the right side of the spool, designed around a drawbar drag system that keeps all mechanical mechanisms in precise alignment and exerts no pressure on the frame.
