It represents the evolution of the Tournament Basia platform, developed by Daiwa to take Big Pit reel performance to an even higher level.</p> <p>The new reel configuration features an enlarged spool and rotor, engineered to optimise casting behaviour and improve line control. The goal is to create a system capable of efficiently handling the extreme casting distances required by modern surfcasting while maintaining a high level of precision and control.</p> <p>The key innovation is the AIRDRIVE rotor, introduced for the first time on a dedicated surfcasting reel. Its distinctive spherical-inspired geometry combines rigidity and low weight, reducing rotational inertia and delivering exceptionally smooth rotor start-up and rotation.</p> <p>The ZAION construction of both body and rotor further contributes to weight reduction. This high-rigidity carbon-based composite developed by Daiwa offers an optimised balance between structural strength and low weight, improving overall reel balance and enhancing control during casting and retrieve.</p> <p>The internal mechanics are also equipped with 11 bearings, two more than the previous generation. <p>The new Emblem in the Surfcasting version confirms the winning formula of the previous model, further improving it both in terms of build quality and look. Both body and rotor were built in the innovative ZAION V material: a carbon-based composite material, lighter and more resistant than traditional materials and totally free from corrosion. The weight of the new Emblem is in fact reduced by 25 grams compared to the previous generation. The new 45 spool is Ultra Longa Cast with a Shallow profile (0.30-0.30 m) facilitating the use of thin lines to maximize casting distance. A second Long Cast spool with higher capacity (0.35-300m) is supplied.
